Our nation is facing many issues, some of which you may be more passionate about than others. You are likely on this page to find out my stance on the hot button issue you care about. I hope to have a conversation and hear your passion someday.
I recognize there are many problems that we need to face head on right now, stop the bleeding if you will. I want you to know that I plan to be bold, uncompromising in truth, without regard for political consequences, only what is true and good.
I also implore you to look to the root cause of these symptoms. It isn’t as sensational, or meme worthy but it is the only way to have lasting fundamental change. We must get to the root causes of our problems. Just to name a few…
Destruction of traditional family values and importance of fathers in the home leading to crime, mental health crisis, abortions, economic hardships and gender identity issues.
Lack of emphasis or education on citizenship leading to disenfranchised, disengaged voters, election integrity issues, corruption in politics, lack of accountability.
Removal of God from our schools, government and frankly even some of our churches leading to the lack of a moral compass or any sort of basic truth to guide our way.
Lack of education on the founding of this country and the principles that guided it leading to many unable to defend and assert freedom and hold their representatives accountable because they simply don’t know or don’t know why they believe what they do.
Degradation of truth and morality leading to chaos as every person gets to decide their own truth.
So as you read on I am happy to share my views on the issues we face and what I would do if I were elected your representative but I ask you to join me in going deeper and doing the hard work of addressing the root causes. I am willing to lead on it, but to have lasting, fundamental change it must come from a hearts and minds change in We The People.
The Issues
Agriculture is the lifeblood of not only our district but of our nation. We must have a strong agriculture community and imperative to that is the family farm.
The more the government has gotten involved the harder it has made it for the family farm to survive. The excessive regulation from land and water usage, to pesticide use, to emissions on trucks and tractors combined with out of control inflation have driven up input costs. Commodity prices aren’t able to keep up with the input cost and our farmers and ranchers are the ones taking the hit.
Without a change in course we only need to look to Europe to see what the result of excessive government control and insane climate agenda directives will be.
As with many other industries we must eliminate much of the government control and oversight and continue to negotiate better trade agreements (as Trump did in his first term) resulting in lower input costs and better commodity prices. I will be a voice that listens to the concerns of the actual producers fights for them, not the special interests. I also believe that the representative from this district should undoubtedly seek to be on the Ag committee and that is what I will do.
Life begins at conception. It is a moral imperative as a society that we defend innocent life at all stages, from conception to our final breath. It is also important that we not just rely on policy change that can turn into a battle of political will, but promote life in a manner that will change hearts and minds to the value of life and create fundamental, lasting change. The overturn of Roe v. Wade is only the start, there is much work yet to be done. Unfortunately, instead of using the momentum of this monumental decision to forge ahead many Republicans are already running from this issue willing to sacrifice the lives of children for their political aspirations. I will never back down from defending life as I believe this is the great moral debate of our time and we must get the basic value of life right or our entire premise and foundation upon which we build our society will be wrong.
This regard for life cannot stop at birth and we must also support and promote traditional family values, getting fathers back in the home and taking responsibility for their families, supporting mothers, and economic policy that doesn’t contradict, inhibit or punish families.
We must secure our borders, northern and southern. It is a matter of national security. Our current administration is violating their oath of office by allowing this invasion of illegal and sometimes dangerous immigrants from all over the world. Their reckless actions are endangering the lives and livelihoods of American citizens which they have a duty to protect. These reckless, politically motivated policies are not humanitarian, rather they are causing harm to millions of men, women and children being exploited in the drug trade and sex trafficking. THIS MUST STOP NOW!
The Constitution is clear. The right to bear arms shall not be infringed. This was not meant by our founders to have weapons to hunt with. It was for the God given right of self defense including from the government should it become tyrannical. Proper use and training is the responsibility of every gun owner and violent crimes committed with a gun, as well as with any weapon, should be prosecuted to the full extent.
Immigration to America provides an opportunity for people from all over the world to provide a better life for their family through the freedom and opportunity that exists here. It is an undeniable part of the success and growth of our nation. It must however be done lawfully, there must be standards and expectations that are met. Citizenship is a compact between the people of this nation and the person seeking citizenship. The nation puts forth a set of expectations and standards we have all agreed to (the social compact) in order to become a citizen, a part of this nation. The citizenship seeker agrees to those terms and in return is provided with the rights and protections of being a citizen. When this process is bypassed it not only violates the compact but also the person here illegally never fully gets to benefit from the opportunities and freedom that they could have. We must have a system that isn’t prohibitive to those truly seeking and understanding the principles of freedom and opportunity in America but is strict and swift in preventing those who want to take advantage.
The federal government has no business in public or private education, it was never meant to, and the bureaucracy of the Department of Education needs to be abolished. Decisions about public education need to be made at the local level with involvement and accountability from parents. My wife and I have 5 children and have chosen to homeschool 4 of them. Parents should have the final say when it comes to the education of their children whether it be public, private or homeschool. I will always fight for and defend a parent’s right to choose how their children will be educated. Contrary to what many leftists seem to think, our children do not belong to the government.
We have responsibility as a society to those who have served and given their lives in defense of our nation and freedom. We have a Constitutional obligation to provide for the support of our military and that includes our veterans. As with other topics we must hold our government accountable to ensure the funding reaches our service members needs and doesn’t get lost in a bureaucratic system. Furthermore, we must honor our those who have served our country with more than a handshake. We must do our part to preserve the freedom and American values they gave dearly to protect.
We all have a responsibility to be good stewards of the land God has provided for us. We should be encouraging all forms of domestic energy production that are self-sustaining and logical. Shutting down our energy production and relying on other nations that not only hate us but are causing much more harm to the environment than our American production is irresponsible, dangerous and expensive. The radical and reckless policies of the globalist agenda and the Green New Deal are politically motivated and cause more harm than good to not only American citizens but people around the world, especially those in 3rd world countries. We must not let our economy, our independence and livelihoods of American citizens be sacrificed for the virtue signaling of the elite class.
Our federal government is over $33 TRILLION in debt and by the time you read this that number will likely be higher. That is nearly $100,000 in debt for every citizen meaning my family of seven has a share of the debt equaling nearly ¾ of a million dollars. We simply cannot let this go on any longer, we must make meaningful cuts to spending. The government doesn’t generate any revenue on its own, everything it has is taken from taxpayers and our representatives have a responsibility to steward that which is collected with transparency and integrity. This lack of stewardship would get those in charge of stewarding those funds kicked out of their position in any other industry or organization but in government they keep getting re-elected. We the people must demand that the government stop using our hard earned money as tools in legislation that helps them get re-elected. The current trajectory is unsustainable and neither side seems to have the stomach to do what needs to be done, it is time for new leadership.
The role of the government is clearly defined in the Constitution. Our founders intended it to be limited and have clear jurisdictional lines. Three separate branches, not equal, but all serving a specific role clearly defined and providing a check of power on the other two. Today’s government operates with a 4th branch, the bureaucracy. It is a clear violation of the Constitution and Congress has delegated its lawmaking power to these unelected “experts” resulting in an explosion of regulations, red tape and governmental control. Good government is necessary, but it should be limited. For Congress, if it isn’t defined in Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution, they have no business being a part of it no matter how “good” the idea is.
There are many questions surrounding recent elections. Many questions that are not being addressed and much time, energy and money is being spent to destroy anyone who questions the discrepancies. There is plenty of evidence of illegal activity that should warrant action and further investigation but like other important topics our current politicians are too concerned with their political careers to warrant getting to the truth on a controversial topic. Our elections MUST be fair and honest to maintain our Republic. We must seek the truth even when it is uncomfortable.
The family is the very basis of a strong society. Family itself is an extremely important form of government. Traditional family values are under attack in our society. Marriage is no longer sacred, many fathers aren’t present in the home, and having children is no longer a value or goal for many people. Not only does the destruction of family values put our nation as a whole on a path to destruction but it leaves many lives empty and chasing fulfillment in all the wrong places. Getting back to traditional family values would solve a lot of the problems we face culturally in our nation today.
Religious freedom was the primary objective of many of those who settled and founded this nation. The protection of it is guaranteed in the 1st amendment. It is a freedom of religion, not a freedom from religion and is meant to protect the right of the people to worship as they please according to their conscience without government control or interference. Many new policies and laws under the guise of social justice or equity are targeting religious freedom by forcing people to affirm policies that violate their beliefs. I will be an unwavering advocate in defending religious freedom.
This nation was formed as and is supposed to be a Constitutional Republic. We are a free people and the government exists to protect and secure the God given rights of the citizens. The freedom we enjoy comes with responsibility. It isn’t a “I can do whatever I want to do” freedom. Founding Father John Adams said “Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” It doesn’t mean you must hold certain religious beliefs, rather that virtue and morality are necessary components in a free society. We also have a responsibility to know the principles that our nation was built upon and instill them in the next generation. Finally we have a responsibility to be involved in the process. Not to just vote for the name with a “R” or “D” next to it but participate in electing and holding accountable men and women of virtue that lead on principle, not politics.
